The open support by the opposition leaders has resulted in the hardening of stand by the striking junior doctors. The situation has come to such a stage that the junior doctors are not willing to budge an inch from their original set of demand.
The government is now blaming the Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for the current impasse.
“These two leaders are responsible for the deadlock. It is because of their irresponsible and provocative speeches at the hunger strike camp that the junior doctors have become adamant,” the Medical and Health Minister Dr D L Ravindra Reddy said.
The two opposition leaders were completely ignorant about the rules and regulations that govern the service conditions of doctors.
“They have ended up instigating the agitators,” the Minister said.
He made it clear that there is no question of increasing the stiphend of junior doctors even by a “single rupee”.
