Fickle-Minded Chiru Back In Action!

“Appudappudu opinions change chestuntenegaani politician kaaneradu..” (one cannot become a politician without changing his opinions quite often) – says Gireesham, the lead character in Gurajada Appa Rao’s epic drama – Kanya Sulkam.
This would, perhaps, aptly suit our megastar Chiranjeevi, who quickly changed his opinion, like he changed clothes in a film song. Only two days ago, Chiranjeevi announced that he would be bidding adieu to acting to make politics his full-time career and that his 149th film – Stalin – would be his last. He also declared that his son Ram Charan Teja would fulfill the gap he had created.
But on Thursday night, Chiranjeevi changed his mind, supposedly at the request of legend actor Amitabh Bachchan.
“I will do my 150th film which will be directed by Puri Jagannath," Chiranjeevi announced at the premier show of 'Buddha...Hoga Tera Baap', starring Amitabh Bachchan. And Amitabh offered to play a guest role in Chiranjeevi's next film.
Though Chiranjeevi’s announcement might have brought lot of cheers from his fans, it only shows his fickle-mind. He turned out to be a miserable failure in politics, yet he wants to prove himself a politician with his inconsistent stand. That he is a man of confusion was already proved in politics, as he forgot why he had floated a political party. He simply merged the Praja Rajyam Party into the Congress and is looking for a political rehabilitation in the national party.
Even in the film industry, that brought him name, fame and money, Chiranjeevi is now proving to be inconsistent. When he entered politics in August 2008, he said he would not be acting in films. Then, he made a guest appearance in his son Ram Charan Teja’s blockbuster film Magadheera. Later, he concentrated on elections. But when the PRP proved a disaster in the elections, Chiru developed second thoughts on acting. Last year this time, he announced that he would be back to acting if there is a good script. He became slimmer by reducing his weight and got ready for donning the grease paint.
When everything was ready, he merged his PRP with the Congress and was all set to get into the Central cabinet and he thought it would not be proper to act. Now with the reports that Chiranjeevi might have to wait for a few more months to become the Rajya Sabha member and the central minister, he changed his mind again. What will happen if he gets the berth in the next week’s reshuffle? Wait and see.
