For the last 10 days, one has hardly heard anything about Praja Rajyam Party president-turned-Congress leader Chiranjeevi.
The last time one heard about Chiranjeevi was when he made a statement on his quitting the films for politics and later changing his mind within two days. Almost around the same time, Chiranjeevi he was in the news for a brief period when AICC in-charge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad visiting his residence and declaring that he would have to wait for a few more months to get the Rajya Sabha seat and become a union minister. Azad even advised Chiranjeevi to take the state cabinet post, if he wanted.
So, there is absolutely no place for Chiranjeevi in the Tuesday’s Central cabinet expansion. What is worse, his plans to make it big in the news by holding a massive rally for the merger of the PRP with the Congress were also shattered, as the high command completely ignored the proposal. In fact, Azad told him to take the Congress party membership and start participating in the party activities straightaway. In the meantime, the renewed Telangana agitation completely dominated all the other issues, including the PRP-Congress merger.
Having no other option, Chiranjeevi has gone into hiding, confining himself to the four walls of his house and perhaps, having a few drinks more to doze off.
