Director handovers 'Mahanati' tag to Anushka

Director Vijay was awestruck by the performance of Anushka in the film 'Nanna'. He calls Sweety as the new age 'Mahanati'. "Anushka is a blend of beauty and talent. No doubt, she is the next Savithri'," says the Director. However, the critics defies with the opinion of the director. They say that it's too early to come to a conclusion that Anushka is the next big in film industry. "Savithri used to take over the scene regardless of the actor she was performing with. The audience adored Savithri for her liveliness and captivating performance. Though Anushka is also a good performer, she has a long way to go to be called as 'Mahanati'," says a film critic. Anushka proved her mettle with powerful role in the film 'Arundathi'. Yet again, she plays a powerful role in 'Nanna'. The actress says she was lucky enough to get such roles, in a male-dominated industry. She is hopeful that this role will boost her career further.
