Comment: Sex Maniac Killer Lady Vs RGV

Gone are the days when Ramgopal Varma was a brand or a movie maker who had the ability to create a legacy. These days, I am baffled to find a person with an iron will showing his determination towards subjects that a TRP craving media channel would do. Is it how it was meant to be? Am I now seeing the real Ramgopal Varma who was always a class apart? The reason for these anguishing thoughts is his latest take on the subject of Maria Susairaj which has now led to a scuffle with the BJP folks.

Ramu’s statements that Maria has done her sentence and has come out and she can do another job just like anyone else is undoubtedly true. Technically, logically and practically Ramu is right in what he is saying. But Ramu….life is not just about technique and logic, few things go beyond that. Indeed Maria can start a new life but what if she becomes famous and begins to enjoy a celebrity status? Already, there is a buzz about some crappy reality show people trying to sign her on. Then she will set an example to many criminal minds who will dream of fame with their savage acts.

I have seen the likes of Ranjitha, Sanjay Dutt, Monica Bedi who got into a tangle with the wrong side of law but then the crime quotient in that was weak. And they have been paying their price for that even today.   I read that psychiatrists have given their opinion about the impact it can create on society if someone like Maria gets into a celebrity limelight. (Viz., someone may kill someone and chop into pieces, go to jail and come out seeking media attention- he may say that I was inspired by Maria Susairaj who became atop star after becoming murderer).

As such, RGV is a businessman first and then a human being. He breathes and eats business and this he is doing through cinema. But what he is looking is only the business angle. And what Maria has done is a heinous crime that is the biggest problem. Logically, Ramu is right. But morally and ethically, people like Maria must not be encouraged. In future, anyone will take inspiration and set Maria and RGV as examples for their inhuman acts. What is Ramu’s answer for this??

Knowing a bit about Ramuism and the thinking pattern of RGV, the best answer I would get from him is “Mind your business, I know what I am doing!!” but then perhaps it is time for this intellectual to do an introspection on his philosophy…
