Big Drama About 'Success' Meets Exposed!!!

Every other day, we come across some producer or the other organising ‘success meets’ ‘platinum disc’ functions. Ironically, this happens barely less than three –four days of the film’s release. Well, it turns out that all this is just fake drama and it is actually a publicity stunt to generate interest among the audience.

Recently, a producer quoted his film fetched Rs 28 crores within first week. Reacting to this, the secretary of film producers council Prasanna Kumar reportedly quipped to check if the producer paid commercial tax to know the truth. Similarly, producer of a small budget film arranged for a platinum disc function. Truth is, for a film to reach that level, it should have sold 1 lakh audio CDs.

However, as per audio company owner Madhura Sreedhar, most of the audio CDs are given away for free. He revealed that in the internet era, the digital sales is the key for audio companies and barring ‘Magadheera’ there was no genuine audio success.

Even music maker Chakri agreed when he mentioned about people downloading songs from internet or copying it from pirated CDs. A source from an audio company revealed the success meets and platinum discs are usually done on pressure from the producer.

A source from the cine circuit revealed “As such, only 10% films are actually successful out of every 100 films released. Going by these success meets, atleast 60% of them are organizing such events despite their films being flops. As a result of this false publicity, the audience is getting confused as to which is a genuine success. In this process, even those flicks which genuinely deserving success is getting written off by the audience as a joke.”
