Ravi teja veera in trouble

The Andhra Pradesh Regional Censor Board, which awarded U/A certificates to Ravi Teja’s film Veera, has observed that the film’s copy which is being screened at theatres, is different from the one which was sent to the Board for censoring. Censor Board Chief Dhanalakshmi has reportedly decided to take action against the film makers for violating the rules.

Y. Sunitha Chowdhary, one of the Censor Board members, said she was ‘shocked’ when she watched the film after its release. “What was shown to us was completely different from what was finally released. Chopped heads flying across the screen, dismembered bodies being tossed around and headless torsos struggling to balance before they fall dead… none of the scenes you have mentioned were present in the copy we were shown.”

Meanwhile, director Ramesh Varma vehemently denied the allegations. “I released the same copy that was shown to the Censor Board. In fact even I was surprised that the Censor Board did not ask for many changes to be made. Initially, they even overlooked a cuss word. Only a few minor cuts were suggested and I have implemented all of those,” he said.

On hearing the director’s comments, a board official accused that the director is lying. “The director is a liar! He gave us a bad copy of the film with unclear audio. In fact, when I pointed out that the sound and some scenes are unclear, he specifically told me a day before the release that the final copy that will be released will be refined and clean. That just proves that he showed us a different copy!”
