In 2010, producer M Sudhakar took Rs 40 lakhs as loan from Vijay Sekhar of Chikkadpally for making movie ‘Sevakudu’. Vijay inked a contract with Sudhakar not to release the movie without his consent. However, violating the contract, Sudhakar and Gemini Labs management secured Rs 65 lakhs more from another financier by signing a similar contract, Jubilee Hills CI K Narsinga Rao said.
Citing the breach of contract, Vijay then approached XVII additional chief metropolitan magistrate of the Nampally Criminal Courts. Based on the court’s directions, the police have booked cases against Sudhakar, Gemini Labs manager Srinivas under sections 406 (Criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating) of the IPC.
